Gateways is a 501 C (3) that provides books and mentors to at risk youth in detention and correctional facilities in the State of Florida. To date we have donated over 200k worth of books, art supplies and journals to incarcerated youth.
Gateways provides books of the highest caliber- books on heroes, role models and mentors for young people. Books pertaining to life skills that will provide youth with direction, guidance, morals and support. Books of a positive, healthy wholesome nature that gives youth tools and skills to turn their troubled lives around. We also need volunteers who are interested in going to the prisons to speak to the youth on various subjects.
Professionals tell us that the wisdom of the positive reading assists in stopping the violence that plagues our communities and the lives of our youth.
