The Association of Professional Landscape Designers (APLD) announced its Annual International Landscape Design Awards program winners. Bobbie Schwartz, FAPLD, of Bobbie’s Green Thumb in Shaker Heights, has been given a Merit Award in the Specialty Category for her design of a xeriscape for a Cleveland Heights property.
Awards were presented at the APLD International Design Conference held June 13 – 17, 2011, in Cleveland at the Key Tower Marriott. The criteria used to evaluate submissions included project impact, creativity, technical merit and planting design. The judging panel was comprised of well known experts in the field including: Robin Templar Williams, APLD, FSGD (Robin Williams and Associates); Helen Billetop (Helen Billetop Garden Design Ltd); Sara Kinbar (GoodGardenIdeas.com); Eric Liskey (Better Homes and Gardens); Julie Moir Messervy (Julie Moir Messervy Design Studio); Mark Gregory (Landform Consultants) and Rosalind Reed, APLD (Rosalind Reed Associates).
